I agree the boot sequence, on the sony vaio is bad. My goal was to boot from the Vista disc. Try continuously tapping the F2 key just after pushing the power button to power up the computer. Being able to boot from Optical drive first would have been nice. If there's no such boot menu, this would be the first laptop I've ever seen that lacks this most basic function.
